Here's the process!

I promised to try and show you the sequential process of a painting. I have to admit, I am really sad at trying to merge a slideshow... too bad my kids aren't here to rescue me. But alas, I think I did it.  I always love to watch other artists work... as an artist, I love to share. I think it is great to gather info from all sources.

Hope you take away something you can use.

Finally cathing up

I know I told you I was trying something new last month. But then I had a show in the gallery, closely followed by our annual small works show today. Whew! That being said I wanted to show you three babies I finished.

Remember, I was quilting and interpreting my landscapes... that evolved into abstract quilting with my mom's vintage fabrics... which evolved into mom's fabric hand-dyed and worked into these exquisite encaustic pieces.

Encaustic is simply wax. I layered the pieces and they glow. I am really happy with this direction. I'll get back to it soon. Also, be sure to check out my small pieces HERE.

Bella's place!

She knows her place... right in the middle of everything.

It's small works time.

Love it. Love it. Love it. I love painting little babies. These will be in Chroma gallery's small works show. It opens Nov 13. Can't wait.

Moving Out my Baby!

Just letting you know I am helping my daughter move into an apartment. Going to be a busy weekend. A little excited...a little blue.
She already wants to paint the walls...her mother's daughter!
